Coming in at 50 tonnes of steel, Moon River is the largest vessel ever launched on the Shannon. Constructed by a local team from Carrick-on-Shannon Marine Ltd., the boat launch saw hundreds of locals flock to the river’s edge to watch the vessel’s find it’s home on the water.
It wasn’t plain sailing at first to get there – it took 15 hours to transfer the boat from its birthplace to the local quay 250 meters away.
